A full length practice exam. 200 questions, 4 hours.
Same length as the NHIE. Same 70 / 20 / 10 weighting across the three domains. Four options on every question, one of them right. You find out where you stand before the testing center tells you.
What you are agreeing to
An afternoon. That is the real price, and it is worth saying plainly before you start rather than after.
- The clock runs for 4 hours of wall time and never pauses. Step away for lunch and you have spent an hour.
- You can move between questions, flag any of them, and change an answer until you submit.
- Every answer saves the second you pick it. Close the tab and come back, or open your email link on another computer, and the exam is where you left it.
- Blanks count wrong. The real exam does the same thing, so this one does too.
- There is one form of 200 questions. Take it twice and the second score runs high, because you remember some of them.
Weighted the way the exam is weighted
Most practice tests spread questions evenly across topics. The NHIE does not, and studying against an even spread is how a person walks in ready for the wrong test. Domain 2 and Domain 3 are 60 questions here, because that is what they are worth.
- 70%
- Property and Building Inspection / Site Review~122
- 20%
- Analysis of Findings and Reporting~35
- 10%
- Professional Responsibilities~18
The counts above are the real exam, which scores 175 of its 200 questions. This practice exam scores all 200, split 140 / 40 / 20.
What you get, and what the email is for
On screen, the second you submit
- Your raw score out of 200, and which of four readiness bands it lands in.
- How you did in each of the three domains, against their real weights.
- Every question you missed, with the answer and the written reason.
- All 19 outline tasks, ranked worst first, and where to start.
In your inbox
- Your score, with a link back to the breakdown. The page stays up for 12 months.
- Study email built from your own results: your weakest tasks, how the weights work, and what a practice score can and cannot tell you.
- What the course is and what it costs, said plainly.
The address is the price of the exam. It keeps the seats for real people, it lets you move between computers, and it is where your score lands. We use it to send you study email and to tell you about the course. Every email has a one click way off the list, and leaving never takes down your results page.
About the score you will get
The NHIE reports a scaled score where 500 passes. EBPHI does not publish how raw answers convert to that scale, so no practice exam, including this one, can tell you your scaled score. This is a raw percentage on 200 items weighted the way the real exam is weighted.
Where these 200 questions come from
They were written for this exam and they are not in the paid question bank. Same manual pages, same review, same rules. Nothing here is a recalled NHIE item, and anyone selling you those is selling you something they are not allowed to have.
Every question traces to a page in the NHIE Home Inspection Manual and to a task on the official 2023 outline.
